International Day of Peace
The United Nation's General Assembly has declared Friday September 21, 2018 as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples. The theme of the 2018 International Day of Peace is ‘THE RIGHT to PEACE”. The International Day of Peace, aka "Peace Day" provides an opportunity for individuals, organizations and nations to undertake acts of peace and kindness. People across the globe will engage in diverse and meaningful ways, from observing a minute of silence to participation in peace marches.
The Rappahannock Rotary Club believes that THE RIGHT to PEACE starts right here in our own community. As part of our celebration of Peace Day, we would like to invite you to join us for an evening of conversation on Promoting Peace and Civility in our Community on Friday, September 21, 2018; 7- 9 pm, Fredericksburg Baptist Church, Fellowship Hall (Caroline Street entrance). The Rappahannock Rotary Club views this event as the beginning of a community discussion, so here is a great opportunity to dialogue with other members of the community and have your voices heard on the issues that concern you. Remember, no involvement; no change!
